Colts Offense Not Quite Enough Against Montgomery
BLUE BELL, PA (April 14, 2021) – The Middlesex offense came out swinging, but fell short as Montgomery outslugged the Colts.
Game 1 (16-7 Loss) – Montgomery came out of the gates fast as Middlesex found themselves in a deep hole early trailing 13-2 after 4 innings of play. The Colts would continue to chip away at the lead, but ran out time as they would fall by a final score of 16-7. Christian Petrillo (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) went 3-5 with 2 doubles, 2RBI, and a run scored while Chris Sommer (Edison, NJ/Edison) added 2 hits including a solo home run. Thomas Massaro (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) would add 2 hits, a run scored and an RBI. Josh Hernandez (West Palm Beach, FL/Park Vista) capped off the offense with a pair of RBI's and a long solo home run into the right field trees.
