Colts 18 hits leads to win over Raritan Valley

BRANCHBURG, NJ (April 28, 2021) – Offensive outburst helps Colts take down the Lions of Raritan Valley. 

Game 1 (16-9 Win) – Thomas Gamba (Neptune, NJ/Neptune) picked up the victory on the mound throwing 5.2 IP allowing 5 runs while striking out 5. Louie Folgore (Monroe, NJ/Monroe) came on to throw 1.1 scoreless innings to keep the Colts ahead. He came on out of the bullpen with the bases loaded and got the batter to fly out RF on his first pitch. Ryan Pozo (Woodbridge, NJ/Woodbridge) and Zachary Honimar (South Amboy, NJ/South Amboy) closed out the 8th and 9th innings respectively. Chris Born (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) and Vincent Powers (Colonia, NJ/John F. Kennedy) led the way offensively with 3 hits each and 4 runs scored. Tyler Sharfetz (Fords, NJ/John F. Kennedy) had 4RBI including a solo HR to LF. Each member of the starting lineup had at least 1 hit. Christian Petrillo (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick), Joshua Hernandez (West Palm Beach, FL/Park Vista), Bryan Fernandez (Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville) and Angel Cora (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) all had 2 hits each.
