KANNALEY K'S 15 IN COMPLETE GAME, 2-1 WIN OVER SALEM

Patrick Kannaley struck out 15 batters in a complete game effort and didn't allow an earned run as Middlesex College earned their first win of the 2022 season, topping Salem Community College, 2-1.

The Colts (1-2) scored two runs in the third innning and Kannaley (Sophomore/Middlesex, NJ) made them stand. The righty didn't walk a batter and allowed just three hits on the afternoon. Salem fell to 3-3 on the season.

After five of the first seven Colts struck out oevr the first two innings, Shayne Salvesan (Freshman/Old Bridge, NJ) led off the third with a single and Christopher Born (Freshman/South Plainfield, NJ) followed with a walk. Christian Petrillo (Freshman/North Brunswick, NJ) singled and catcher Connor Luckie (Freshman/Hamilton, NJ) drove in a run with a fielders choice.   

Middlesex threatened in the fifth and eighth innings, but couldn't push across any insurance runs. 

Petrillo and Giovanni Aresta (Freshman/Old Bridge, NJ) each went 2-4 with a double and the Colts stole four bases without being caught. 

Middlesex returns to action Friday when they travel to Camden County College. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
