MIDDLESEX COLLEGE BASEBALL RALLIES FOR 6-5 WIN TO SWEEP THREE-GAME SET WITH SALEM

Joshua Rodriguez hit a game-tying double and Conor Drury delivered a go-ahead single in the seventh as Middlesex College baseball rallied for a 6-5 win over Salem CC to sweep a three-game series against the Mighty Oaks.

Middlesex moved to 18-12 on the season while Salem fell to 8-19.

The Colts jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the second inning against Salem and the score stayed that way until a four-run fourth by Salem put the Colts down 5-2.

After two scoreless innings, Middlesex struck for four runs to take a 6-5 lead that was preserved by Sal Della Fave (Freshman/Edison, NJ), who came on for two scoreless innings of relief to pick up the save for Josh Horowitz (Freshman/Red Bank, NJ). Horowitz worked four innings and allowed just one run while striking out three to pick up the win.

Brett Lukachyk (Freshman/Woodbridge, NJ) doubled, scored two runs and drove home another to add to the offense for the Colts.

Middlesex returns to the diamond on Wednesday when they host Bronx CC in a single nine-inning game. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30PM.
