In Game 1 against Northampton, Middlesex fell behind 2-0 in the first inning, but scored 10 runs across the second and third innings to take a commanding lead. The Spartans were able to get to within 10-7, but Middlesex had a four-run fifth and plated two insurance runs in the seventh to nail down the victory.

Brett Lukachyk (Sophomore/Woodbridge, NJ) went 1-4 with a home run, three runs, two runs scored and a walk for Middlesex as well.

John Ryan (Freshman/East Brunswick, NJ) got the start for Middlesex and worked the first five innings to pick up the win. Joshua Friedman (Freshman/Bogota, NJ) pitched two scoreless innings in relief for the Colts as well.

Middlesex built a big early lead in Game 2 as well, using a nine-run third to build a 13-3 lead through three innings. The Spartans were able to inch closer with two runs in the fourth and sixth innings, but three Colts insurance runs in the sixth put the game away.

The Lukachyk brothers, Brett and Drew, led the way for the Colts offense in Game 2. Drew went 3-4 with two runs, three RBIs, a double and two stolen bases. Brett went 3-5 with two runs.

Angel Deaza (Sophomore/Elizabeth, NJ) went 2-4 with a run, a walk, a stolen base and three RBIs. Riquelby Madera (Freshman/Paterson, NJ) also had a big day on offense for the Colts. The freshman designated hitter went 1-2 with two walks, two runs and two RBIs.

Jake Graci (Freshman/Kendall Park, NJ) and Julian Collado (Freshman/Perth Amboy, NJ) each scored three runs in the game for Middlesex.

Ryan Rzepinski (Sophomore/Bayonne, NJ) got the start for Middlesex and was relieved by Joshua Horowitz (Sophomore/Red Bank, NJ), who picked up the win.

Middlesex returns to action when they take on Camden CC on Tuesday for an away matchup between two potential Region 19 playoff teams. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30PM.
