Cabezudo’s 41 points not enough to defeat Morris

Edison, NJ- The Colts loss to the College County of Morris Saturday 83-86 in what was an exciting up and down game. Morris was up by as many as 23 points before the Colts were able to adjust and cut the lead to just four points at halftime.

Morris was able to stretch the lead to 17 points early in the second half. Then Sophomore guard Josh Cabezudo, who scored 41 points started to heat up from outside hitting 5 of his 6 total made threes in the second half. Freshmen Guards Julius Belton, 14 points, and Sean Williams, 13 points, also helped the second half surge. Sophomore Forward Marquise Billingsley was one rebound shy of his fifth double-double this season.

The Colts were able to cut the lead to 1 point with under 30 seconds to play. Morris was perfect from the line down the stretch that allowed them to keep their lead to three points in the final minute. In the final 5 seconds Middlesex had a great opportunity to tie the game and force overtime but the shot came up short.

The Colts look to bounce back Tuesday March 23rd on the road against RCSJ-Gloucester.
