Colts Finish the Week With Their Second 3 Game Win Streak of the Season

The Middlesex Men's basketball team completed their second three game win steak of the season by defeating Sussex Community college this past Saturday 92-65. The colts were led by two freshmen guards. Sean Williams scored a season high 23 points and added 7 rebounds with 5 assist. Nick Bayuelo shot 6 for 7 from the field, with 5 of his makes being three pointers. He finished the game a season high 17 points.

 The Colts started their three game win streak with a come from behind victory against RCSJ-Gloucester. Down 12 points at halftime, the colts had to make a few defensive adjustments to bounce back. Sophomore Forward Marquise Billingsley led the surge by grabbing 9 of his 14 rebounds in the second half and scored 13 points to record his 5th double-double of the season. Hampered with foul trouble in the first half, freshmen Guard Julius Belton scored 11 of his 13 points down the stretch. Sophomore Tim Ellis hit two big three pointers in the final 90 seconds to help the colts tie the game and eventually take the lead and win 68-64. The colts steady hand sophomore guard Josh Cabezudo led the team with 22 points.

The second of the three games saw the Colts take on Sussex Community college at home. The colts were able to eclipse the 100 point mark for the first time all season. The team hit a season high 15 three pointers. Freshmen Guard Emanuel Davila hit four of his 5 made threes in the second half and finished the game with 19 points. With six total players scoring in double digits the Colts were able to get the home victory. Julius Belton led all scorers with 24 points and 7 assist.

Middlesex next game will be at Home on April 3rd Tip-off at 12pm.
