PRESSLEY'S DOUBLE-DOUBLE LEADS MIDDLESEX COLLEGE TO 68-53 WIN OVER MERCER CC
Savion Pressley registered his first double-double of the season and Jahmere Glover led the Colts with 16 points as the Middlesex College Men's Basketball continued their fantastic start to the 2023-24 season with 68-53 win at Mercer CC.
The win improved Middlesex College's record to 4-0 on the young season.
The Colts continued their trend of playing solid defense all game while also pulling away offensively in the second half.
Middlesex outscored Mercer (2-2) 26-20 in the first half and built on the lead on their way to the 15-point victory.
Pressley scored 15 points with 10 rebounds. Glover added eight rebounds to his game-high 16 points.
Once again, Nigel Garcia (Sophomore/Maplewood, NJ) was a key player off the bench for the Colts, scoring 13 points in 17 minutes.
Lorenzo Perez also played well in a reserve role, scoring five points and grabbing five rebounds in 22 minutes.
Middlesex looks to extend its winning streak to five when they next return to the court on Saturday to take on Westchester CC at home as part of a doubleheader with the Women's Basketball team. Tipoff is set for 2:00PM.
