MIDDLESEX COLLEGE MENS BASKETBALL ENTERS NJCAA D2 NATIONAL POLL AT #23

After a 6-0 start, Middlesex College jumped into the latest NJCAA Division II National Poll. The Colts entered the poll at #23 this week and are the only Division II team from Region 19 to appear in this week's rankings.

Last week, Middlesex received votes for the Top 25 before making the jump in this week's poll, the second of the season. There are 159 Men's Basketball teams across the country who compete on the NJCAA Division II level.

The Colts have been boosted by a deep roster and various scoring options and a stout defense which has held opponents to a 30.5% field goal percentage, the second lowest in the country among NJCAA Division II teams. Middlesex opponents average just 60.1 points per game, the sixth lowest average in the country. They recently held Anne Arundel to 45 points in a home win. It was the first time a Colts team had held an opponent under 50 points since 2018.

Middlesex also ranks 15th in rebound margin per game (21.9) and 14th in assists per game (21.1) out of 159 NJCAA Division II schools.

Sean Williams (Sophomore/Old Bridge, NJ) leads the Colts with 17.1 points per game with his season high of 25 coming in a 94-67 win over Westchester CC.

Tristin Harcourt (Sophomore/Newark, NJ) and Alfeny Javier Concepcion (Sophomore/Perth Amboy, NJ) each average 13.9 points per game. Harcourt leads the Colts with 9.3 rebounds per game and Lorenzo Perez has been a key ball distributor, averaging a team-high 6.3 assists per game.

Middlesex is the only unbeaten team among Region 19 Division II schools and has already defeated 2023 Region 19 finalist CC Morris on the road. They take on Bucks CC this Thursday at home in their next matchup.
