MIDDLESEX MENS SOCCER TIES RUTGERS-NEWARK, 1-1

George Mangandi scored his first collegiate goal to give Middlesex an early lead, but a second half own goal gave the Colts a 1-1 tie against Rutgers-Newark's JV team. 

Jayson Vassallo had seven saves in goal for the Colts. 

"The guys played well in the first half," said Head Coach Javier Velasco. "We played attractive soccer in the first half. We did a good job of keeping possession."

Middlesex and Rutgers-Newark each had seven shots on goal. 

Middlesex returns to the pitch on Thursdasy when they take on Bergen Community College in a home match at Thomas Edison Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30PM.
