MATIAS BARREIROS NAMED GSAC D3 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Middlesex standout Matias Barreiros was named the Garden State Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Division III schools. 

Barreiros, a freshman forward from sayreville, New Jersey, led the Colts to a 4-0 home win over Bergen Community College and a 1-1 tie against ninth-ranked Sussex County College.

Against Bergen, Barreiros gave the Colts an early 1-0 lead and then capped the scoring by netting the final goal of the win. He also assisted on a second-half goal by teammate Efrain Mendoza-Reyes. 

The following game, Barreiros gave Middlesex a 1-0 first-half lead over Sussex by scoring the first goal of the game. He tallied four shots on goal in each game and currently leads the Colts with seven points and 11 shots on goal. 

Barreiros and Middlesex will be back in action Saturday when they take on County College of Morris at home for a 12pm start.
