MANGANDI NETS TWO AS MIDDLESEX TOPS DELAWARE COUNTY 5-2

George Mangandi scored two goals and Claudio Lopez had a goal and two assists as Middlesex College went on the road and beat Delaware County Community College, 5-2.

Mangandi (Freshman/South Plainfield, NJ) scored two first half goals as Middlesex (5-4-2) built a 3-1 lead at the break.

The Colts offense continued to click in the second half as they outscored the Phantoms (2-4) 2-1 for the decisive three-goal margin. Lopez (Freshman/Dunellen, NJ) scored his sixth goal of the season and then assisted on the first career goal for Alex Jex (Freshman/Iselin, NJ).

Marwan Fouad (Freshman/South Brunswick, NJ) also scored for the Colts. Fouad has found the back of the net in four of the last five games for Middlesex.

Jeremy Madrid (Freshman/Perth Amboy, NJ) played the first half in goal for Middlesex and had three saves. Jayson Vassallo (Freshman/South River, NJ) and Ali Mansour (Freshman/North Brunswick, NJ) split the second half and combined for five saves. 

Middlesex outshot Delaware County Community College 17-8 in the match.

The Colts will return home for their next match which is schedueld for this Saturday at noon at Thomas Edison Park.
