ISAIAH SCOTT NAMED 1ST TEAM ALL-REGION 19, ADRIAN TORRES PICKS UP 2ND TEAM HONORS

Middlesex College Men's Soccer had one of the top defenses in the country in 2025 and its leader received high recognition from Region 19.

Isaiah Scott, a sophomore defender from Piscataway, NJ, was named First Team All-Region in voting completed by the region's head coaches.

Freshman midfielder Adrian Torres was voted onto the second team after a fine debut campaign for the Colts as well.

Scott anchored the Colts defense, which was among the best in Region 19 all season. Middlesex registered 6 shutout wins in 2024, a total that was surpassed by just seven other teams in the country.

Scott impacted much more than the defense though as his speed, conditioning and hustle allowed him to contribute from one end line to the other. He registered five goals on the season, three of which came on converted penalty kicks.

His best game of the season came in a win over NJCAA National Tournament participant Bergen CC early in the season. With the Colts down 2-0, Scott scored back-to-back goals to tie the game. A late goal by Samuel Rodriguez would give the Colts one of their signature wins of the season.

Torres (Freshman/Old Bridge, NJ) made an immediate impact with the Colts as a freshman. His biggest moment came early in the season when the Colts rallied for a 5-3 win over Delaware County CC. Middlesex had dug themselves a hole and faced an early 3-0 deficit, but climbed back to tie the game 3-3 in the second half. In the 59th minute, Torres scored to give Middlesex a lead they would not relinquish.

Torres, whose brother Carlos was a First Team All-Region performer for Middlesex in 2023, finished the season with four goals.

Led by Head Coach Javier Velasco, Middlesex finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 10-6-2. Their 10-3-2 record against Region 19 Division III teams was the best in-region record the Colts have posted in at least five years.
