Lady Colts Extend Winning Streak to 4 With 17-4 Victory over Northampton
The Lady Colts scored early and often they as defeated Northampton Community College 17-4 in the opener of the doubleheader in Bethlehem, PA., on Thursday. The second game was halted after 6 innings, with the Lady Colts trailing 11-6, and will be completed next Thursday before the scheduled DH on April 15.
Kaitlynne McCarthy (Woodbridge H.S.) was the winning pitcher, allowing 4 hits and striking out 6 in her 3 complete innings of work. Alyssa Dima (Manville H.S.) made her mound debut, allowing no earned runs in her two innings of work. McCarthy was also one of the offensive leaders, collecting 3 hits and 2 RBIs. She also scored 3 runs. Julie Davis (South Plainfield H.S.) contributed 3 hits and 3 RBIs. Katelyn Herman (EB Tech H.S.) collected 2 hits and an RBI, and Abigail Jason (J.P. Stevens H.S.) had 2 hits, scored 3 runs and swiped 2 bases. Chloe Oblepias (Carteret H.S.) added 2 hits, including a double, scored 2 runs, and had a team leading 5 RBIs. Jennah Schiraldo (Carteret H.S.) walked 3 times and scored 3 runs, and also had an RBI single. Alida Pellicane (Edison H.S.) chipped in with a single, sac fly, a stolen base, and 2 RBIs.
The Lady Colts return home on Saturday, April 10, to take on RCSJ-Gloucester, currently the #5 team in the country. First pitch is 12 noon.
