LADY COLTS ARE SWEPT BY BROOKDALE IN EDISON

In the opener, Kaitlynne McCarthy (Woodbridge H.S.) hurled a complete game and was the hard luck loser, allowing only 6 hits and 3 earned runs while recording 5 strikeouts. She was victimized by 4 infield errors. The Lady Colts outhit Brookdale 12-6, but left 9 runners on base, including the tying and winning runs on second and third base, as the game ended on an infield out. Jessica Freeman (Carteret H.S.) paced the offense with a 4 hit game, which included a double and RBI. McCarthy and Madison Buttitta (J.F. Kennedy H.S.) both had 2 hits and an RBI.

The Lady Colts fell behind early and never recovered in dropping a 12-2 decision in the nightcap.
