MIDDLESEX WOMENS BASKETBALL FALLS TO BROOKDALE 64-50

Vanessa Rivas scored 17 points for Middlesex College, but it wasn't enough as the Colts dropped a 64-50 home women's basketball contest against Brookdale Community College.

The Jersey Blues (4-4) and Colts (0-4) battled in a close game for much of the first half before Brookdale went on a 9-2 run to send the second quarter.

Middlesex was able to draw within one point on a layup by Carla Seyfarth (Freshman/South Brunswick, NJ) to make the score 19-18 with 6:52 remaining in the half before the Jersey Blues were able to pull away.

Rivas scored 12 of her 17 points in the second half as Middlesex picked up the pace offensively, but Brookdale matched the Colts throughout the half.

Seyfarth finished with 12 points for Middlesex and Franchesca Derilus (Sophomore/Port St. Lucie, FL) added 10.

Middlesex will be off for Thanksgiving break before returning to action Tuesday, November 29 when they travel to Passaic County College for a 5:00PM tipoff.
