FEASTER SCORES 15 OFF THE BENCH AS MIDDLESEX WOMENS BASKETBALL HOLDS ON TO BEAT MONTGOMERY 66-61

Kezia Feaster scored 15 points off the bench as Middlesex College Women's Basketball hung on late for an exciting 66-61 win over Montgomery CC.

With the win, the Colts gave Montgomery their first loss of the season and improved their own record to 6-2.

The game was close throughout with Middlesex holding a slim 29-28 lead at halftime. The Colts expanded their lead by outscoring the Mustangs 21-19 in a close third quarter. The fourth quarter was close as well with the Colts edging the Mustangs 16-14 in the quarter.

Middlesex held a 65-57 lead with just over three minutes left, but Montgomery made one final push which the Colts were able to withstand. Montgomery hit two free throws with one minute left to make the score 65-61 and stole a pass with 30 seconds left, but strong defense by Courtney Hansen (Sophomore/Carteret, NJ) forced a turnover and gave Middlesex the ball back.

A free throw by Feaster with 7.6 seconds left sealed the victory for Middlesex.

Vanessa Rivas (Sophomore/Perth Amboy, NJ) led Middlesex with 18 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks. It was her second double-double of the season.

Damani Anderson (Freshman/Elizabeth, NJ) added 11 points for the Colts as well.

Middlesex returns to action Saturday when they travel to Salem CC. Tipoff is scheduled for 12:00PM.
