MIDDLESEX COLLEGE WOMENS BASKETBALL TOPS BRONX CC AS COLTS MAKE PUSH FOR PLAYOFFS
Alyssa Rice had 18 points and Angelina Peralta-Almonte scored 14 as Middlesex College Women's Basketball topped Bronx CC 73-35.
The win was the second straight for the Colts and moved their record on the season to 11-12. Middlesex has four games remaining over the next week as they make their push to secure a playoff berth.
Against Bronx CC, the Colts were able to utilize their entire roster as everyone on the team had at least 13 minutes of playing time. Rice (9-12) and Peralta-Almonte (7-10) were particularly efficient from the floor.
Kezia Feaster (Sophomore/Elizabeth, NJ) led the Middlesex reserves with 11 points and had a team-high six steals in 23 minutes. Yasmen Zafar (Sophomore/North Plainfield, NJ) had five steals and led the Colts with six assists.
Peralta-Almonte had three more blocks in the game and is fifth in the country in total blocks with 65.
Middlesex College returns to action Thursday when they host Delaware Technical CC in a contest with a 5:00pm tipoff. The game has been designated as their annual Pink Night for Cancer Awareness. Middlesex will be honoring longtime employee Lafayette Smith, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2024.
Pink Night ceremonies are scheduled to begin between 4:30PM-5:00PM prior to tipoff of the Women's Basketball game.
