MIDDLESEX COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS LAGUARDIA CC 76-72

Niko Barnes scored 26 points and Hashim Nadir provided key contributions in reserve as Middlesex College Men's Basketball captured a 76-72 road win over LaGuardia CC.

Barnes has scored 20 points in each of the Colts five games this season and is currently ranked #10 in the country with a 23.8 scoring average. Middlesex is now 2-3 on the season.

Against LaGuardia, Middlesex outscored the Red Hawks 42-34 in the first half and then held on a four-point lead in the closing seconds to seal the win.

Barnes matches his season high with 26 points on 9-22 shooting. He added six rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes.

Damien Downes scored 12 points for the Colts and was perfect on three-pointers and free throws in the game.

Hyshon Cannon added 10 points with a team-high four assists and Joel Cineus paced Middlesex with 10 rebounds.      

Middlesex returns to action Thursday for a home matchup against Bucks CC. Tipoff is set for 7:00PM.
