BARNES DOUBLE-DOUBLE LEADS MIDDLESEX PAST DELAWARE TECH 76-64

Niko Barnes notched his second double-double of the season and Damien Downes scored 20 points as Middlesex College Men's Basketball topped Delaware Tech CC 76-64.

The win gave the Colts a sweep of Delaware Tech for the season and kept Middlesex atop the NJCAA Region 19 D2 standings. The Colts are now 11-8 on the season.

Delaware Tech led for much of the first half and carried a five-point lead into halftime. The Colts offense was in high gear in the second half though as they outscored Delaware Tech 46-29 in the second half on their way to a 12-point win.

In addition to the big games from Barnes (18 points, 11 rebounds) and Downes, Middlesex was bolstered by a 17-point effort from Hyshon Cannon (Sophomore/Hamilton, NJ) on 6-10 shooting. This was the second game in a row Cannon scored 17 points, which is his season high.

Amir Abdullah (Freshman/Newark, NJ) added 13 points for the Colts as well.

Middlesex is scheduled to return to the court on Saturday when they host Lackawanna for a 3:00PM start.
