MIDDLESEX COLLEGE MOVES TO 6-2-1 WITH 5-0 WIN OVER HACC

After the Middlesex College Men's Soccer team knocked off #8 RCSJ-Gloucester with a 2-0 road win, they followed up with two more Region 19 wins to extend their winning streak to three games.

The Colts traveled to Delaware County CC where they scored a come-from-behind 5-3 win and then coasted to a 5-0 win at home over Harrisburg Area CC.

The Colts, who received votes in the most recent NJCAA Division III National Poll, are now 6-2-1 on the season.

Against Delaware County, Middlesex was down 3-1 at halftime before they staged a furious rally in the second half. The Colts scored two goals in the first ten minutes of the second half and Adrian Torres (Freshman/Old Bridge, NJ) put the Colts ahead for good in the 59th minute as Middlesex College scored four unanswered second half goals to score a 5-3 road victory.

Isaiah Scott (Sophomore/Piscataway, NJ) had scored the Colts lone goal in the first half while Samuel Rodriguez (Freshman/Roselle, NJ) and Jayvian Mandry (Freshman/Avenel, NJ) scored the first two goals in the second half to get the game tied.

Mandry added a final goal in the 89th minute to give Middlesex a two-goal advantage.

Sebastian Grisales (Freshman/Rahway, NJ) saved 7 of the 10 shots he faced to pick up the victory in goal.

The Colts had a quick turnaround on just one day off when they took on Harrisburg Area CC at home and after a sluggish start, the Colts offense began clicking again.

With less than three minutes remaining in what looked like it was going to be a scoreless first half, Joseph Garcia (Freshman/South Plainfield, NJ) and Uziel Alache (Sophomore/Parlin, NJ) scored in a span of 2:17 to give the Colts a 2-0 halftime lead.

Middlesex carried that momentum into the second half when they scored three goals in a dominating 45 minutes to seal the 5-0 victory.

Garcia scored at the 51:40 mark to make it 3-0 and Rodriguez and Collins Oriola (Freshman/Union, NJ) scored the final two goals to give the Colts their winning margin.

Grisales and Daniel Correa (Freshman/South Plainfield, NJ) combined to make three saves in the shutout victory.

Middlesex returns to the pitch on Thursday when they travel to Montgomery County CC for a 4:00PM kickoff.
